Alan has welcomed the news that Rutland is to gain its own, independent entry in the Good Beer Guide.

At the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) AGM on Sunday 27th April the conference of around 600 members voted to support the Rutland branch’s motion that Rutland and Leicestershire should have separate entries in the Good Beer Guide.

Alan joined the Lord Lieutenant, the Mayors of Uppingham and Oakham and the Leader and Chief Executive of Rutland County Council in supporting the motion brought by Jon Whowell, Chairman of the Rutland Branch.

Alan said: ‘I was very happy to support the Rutland CAMRA branch’s campaign to ensure that the county is recognised as separate in the Good Beer Guide. We all know Rutland is a county in its own right and that we have a host of great pubs to shout about, so I am glad to see the motion was passed.’
