Police and Justice

Background

The whole of the constituency falls in the Leicestershire County and Rutland Constabulary, headed by Chief Constable Simon Cole.

We are lucky that the area is relatively low in crime, but the closure of Melton Magistrate's Court and the proposed closure of the police stations in Bottesford and Uppingham face local opposition. The Ministry of Justice and the Chief Constable have difficult decisions and work with the limited resources they have.

Alan will continue to represent consituents' views to those making these decisions.
