Merlin meets Alan

On Saturday 4th August, Alan visited Tesco in Oakham to meet Hearing Dogs for Deaf People's four-legged ambassador.

Merlin, who is set to retire later this year, helped to raise £480 for the charity on the day. The charity, and Merlin, are hoping to raise £30,000 by his retirement. A calender for 2013 which features Merlin striking various poses at RAF Coningsby in Lincoln will be on sale by the end of the year.

Commenting on the forthcoming calender, fundraiser Denise Taylor said: 'The photographs for the calendar are superb; everyone in the team is very excited, and eagerly anticipating seeing the calendar once printed.'

Speaking after he met Merlin and his fundraising companions, Alan said: 'Merlin and her colleagues make an invaluable contribution to the lives of so many people, and I am very pleased to have met them today to lend my support. I wish Merlin well in his retirement, and look forward to seeing the 2013 calender in full!'
