On Monday 26th November Alan attended the 22nd Annual A-Level Politics Student Conference at Westminster Central Hall to speak about his political outlook and his role in government.
Addressing over 1000 A-Level pupils for his 10th consecutive year at the conference, Alan spoke about his views regarding the size of the state, the coalition agenda and his role as a Minister of State for International Development. He also took questions from approximately a dozen students on topics ranging from the legalisation of drugs to the increase in the development budget and education.
Commenting on the event, Alan said: ‘This was my 10th year running speaking at the A-Level conference and it is always pleasing to see Britain’s bright young minds eager to engage with the important issues. Their questions were insightful as ever and I am sure they took a lot away from the day.’
