Local MPs raise Council Funding with Minsiter

  • Jan 13, 2016

On Wednesday 13th January Alan joined fellow Leicestershire MPs and County Council’s Leader Nick Rushton to brief Local Government Minister, Marcus Jones MP, on the Council's tough budget situation.

Sir said: ‘The historic underfunding of Leicestershire is reaching a tipping point. Our Council is at the same time one of the best run but worst funded local authorities in the country.

The Council needs and deserves support from central government and I and my fellow local MPs will keep up the pressure to achieve it. What is important is that we receive a fair and equitable settlement.’
