Alan marks World Malaria Day

Alan has marked World Malaria Day, on Friday 25th April, by highlighting the leading role that the UK has played to tackle the disease, with child death rates having halved since 2000.

As Minister for International Development, Alan has witnessed the difference this increased UK action is making first hand, seeing the tangible positive change as men, women and children are being released from the heavy burden of malaria.

Alan said: 'Malaria is one of the biggest killers of children in Africa, every death is needless. UK Aid is helping save and protect children across the continent. I hope people across Rutland & Melton will be heartened to know more about the difference we are making together.'
