Alan has secured confirmation that a play area in Belvoir Close, Stamford must remain as a public space even if it is sold at auction this week.
Residents contacted Alan upon learning that the space has been put up for auction. Shortly after contacting Rutland County Council on their behalf, Alan received assurances that the original planning conditions remain in place even if the land were to be sold again and that it can only be used as public space as it is now.
In addition, the Council can require the land to be passed to them once it is brought up to standard, and can seek a maintenance sum from the owner for 10 years in the future.
