Alan visits Wheels2Work scheme

On Friday 27th February Alan visited Melton Borough Council’s offices to learn about the Wheels2Work scheme.

The scheme, which allows local job seekers the chance to rent a scooter to get them to interviews and jobs in hard to reach parts of the Leicestershire and Rutland, has become the largest in the country, enabling a number of people to take jobs they would otherwise not have been able to travel to.

Alan said: ‘The genius of this scheme is its simplicity. It gets around the problem of being offered a job but not being able to actually get to it. I was impressed by the success of the scheme so far, and by the plans to roll it out further and help even more job seekers and students.’
