Alan has welcomed the news that the Planning Inspectorate has upheld Melton Borough Council’s rejection of an application to construct a wind turbine at Somerby, Leicestershire.
The Inspector, in dismissing the appeal against the decision, sided with the overwhelming majority of local residents, who has complained that the turbine would be inappropriate for the area.
Alan had submitted his own strong objections to the appeal, and welcomed the Inspector’s decision:
‘I am delighted that this hated application has been killed off for good. I strongly urged the Inspector to throw this appeal out and am glad he has done just that. I have never seen local objections on this scale to a single turbine. The perseverance and hard work of local residents has been vindicated.’
