Meeting with Parish Councils about St George's Project

On Friday 23rd March I met with Edith Weston and North Luffenham Parish Councils – a very useful meeting which gave me a good insight into the views of the surrounding areas. We discussed a wide range of issues, including the importance of sustainable infrastructure, the need for buffer zones and the type and mix of homes to be built in the ‘garden village’. Both councils stressed the importance of their involvement in the process at each stage.

I am encouraged that many of the points that both Parish Councils raised with me were issues that Rutland County Council had already discussed with me and were looking into. However, work needs to be done to ensure the Council, MOD and the local communities and stakeholders can work together effectively, and I am committed to playing my part in ensuring all voices are heard.
